Abba

Parent and Baby's Hands and Feet

There are moments in life when one particular song touches not only your heart but spirit as well. This just happened early this morning when I was in my prayer room. I was reading Mt. 6.1-18 the main focus was on prayer and fast. As I was pondering in these truths a song began to play and suddenly the presence of God filled my room.

I feel prompted to pay attention to the lyrics and just soak for a moment in the presence of God. At first the lyrics seemed quite simple, but as I was soaking, it became a Selah moment. The lyrics seemed simple at first but boy they are indeed profound.

For me the message of the song is profound. You see I was raised without a father. Maybe you don’t know that I am adopted. My mom used to be missionary, when she moved to the city to start planting churches I arrived to her life. So I grew up knowing God not only as “the Almighty” but as my Father, as the person to whom I can go to whenever I need encouragement, wise words, advise, whenever I’m down I know I can always go before Him confident that He will listen to me.

As I obeyed God and started pondering and soaking to the song the following lyrics stroke my heart, soul and spirit:

You’re thoughts define me, you’re inside me
You’re my reality
Abba, I belong to you

The Holy Ghost clearly whisper this to me:

Beloved, behold, I call you  son, you are mine and I am yours. Be not afraid of any circumstance nor  persons for I assure you I go before you. Listen beloved and be reassured on this: You belong to me, I hold you, I crafted you, I have a purpose for your life, I constantly drop grace upon you. Precious child I will always care about you. My beloved son allow my thoughts to define who you are, come before me, be still and know who I am. Simply come and rest in my presence.

As God dropped this word in my spirit the Holy Ghost took me to this passage:

you have received the Spirit of adoption [the Spirit producing sonship] in [the bliss of] which we cry, Abba (Father)! Father!
Rom. 8.15 AMP

I simply went speechless as I realized that indeed through Christ I received the Spirit of Adoption, I am no longer a stranger but now I am called son!!! What amazing is that!!! Here’s the music video of the song that God used early this morning to call my attention prompting me to soak in His presence:
